Arpeggio Patterns

Category: technique

Also known as: broken chord patterns

Arpeggio patterns are repeated right-hand orders such as p-i-m-a, p-m-i-a, or p-a-m-i.

On classical guitar, practicing fixed patterns helps:

  • build right-hand consistency
  • improve tone control across strings
  • support accompaniment and texture in solo repertoire
